Environmental Health & Safety

COMMITTED TO THE GOAL OF BUILDING WITHOUT INCIDENTS

At WHT, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is not merely a program; it is a fundamental component of our business operations. WHT endeavors to establish a culture that is constantly changing and that elevates the standard of the entire construction industry. In other words, EHS is a value at WHT

Our goal is simple: zero accidents on all projects.

From beginning to end, our teams measure and assess safety, and environmental health and safety is an integral part of our project life cycle. To aid teams in identifying possible hazards and developing effective prevention strategies, we employ a mobile audit system to gather and analyze raw data from every job site.
Environmental Health and safety (EHS) is an integral part of how WHT does business, not just a program. WHT is committed to fostering a dynamic and innovative environment, with the ultimate goal of raising the bar for the whole construction sector. To rephrase, EHS is a WHT value.

A focus on people rather than data.

People are the driving force behind all safety statistics. For that reason, WHT’s EHS strategy focuses on people. Our top priority is competence, along with the introduction and reinforcement of safe practices. Our tools help people make well-informed decisions, prepare thoroughly, and determine the reasons for incidents.

A strong, value-based EHS program that uses leading indicators upstream to generate results downstream is the end product.

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ENVIRONMENTAL WHT's EHS culture is based on the following seven fundamentals

Safe Mindset

I am personally responsible and committed to my own well-being and that of others.

Competence

We ensure everyone has the knowledge, skills and behaviors to do their jobs safely.

Engagement

I am actively contributing to an incident free environment.

Planning

We establish EHS goals, identify & mitigate risk in every phase of the project.

Integration

We strategically align EHS into our entire business and the entire project lifecycle.

Leveraging Data

We capture and apply EHS data to influence and drive change.

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ENVIRONMENTAL WHT

Environmental health and safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Project culture is stronger when clients are involved in EHS initiatives, and the correlation is evident. We kindly request that our clients:

  • Before approving any contractors, make sure they are safe to work with.
  • Inquire about the office’s and the field’s communication of EHS standards and practices, as well as injury rates and trends.
  • From a business perspective, it is important to acknowledge that EHS is closely related to quality, schedule, and money.
  • Keep in close contact with project teams and do your part to ensure that everyone is meeting their responsibilities.
