Details of the project

The Nur Sultan Grand Mosque project is designed for the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, and is planned to be the largest mosque in the country and all of Central Asia, with the capacity to accommodate up to 30,000 visitors at once. Construction of the project began in 2019, and it integrates Kazakh and Islamic architectural styles with modern lines, incorporating architectural elements that are potential candidates for Guinness records. The project is realized using natural materials such as natural stone marble, gold leaf, special crystal, stained glass, ceramic, and glass mosaic. Even before laying the foundation of the project, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the former President of Kazakhstan, emphasized that it would not only be an important structure for the entire Muslim world but also a significant cultural asset for the country. The project, situated on a 9.7-hectare plot of land, features minarets designed to be 130 meters in height and a dome reaching a height of 88 meters.
